Integration of applications Software packages are wrapped by a UNICORE application resource. Thus, input and output can be converted to standardized formats. These facilitate design of application classes, abstracting from the actual software package used. Application metadata are used to describe the application resource to clients. The tasks supported by the Application and the input and output of those tasks are described in an XML language.
